Mattia Balsamini Friuli Venezia Giulia Fotografia 2017 Awards for a Regional photographer

Mattia Balsamini was born in Pordenone in 1987. In 2008 he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as assistant in the field of still life and advertisement. In 2010 he became assistant for David La Chapelle on the set and behind the computer. After he graduated in commercial photography at the Brooks Institute he came back in Italy and devoted himself to editorial photography and personal projects. At the moment he is teaching photography at IUAV in Venice and at IED in Turin. He deals with research projects in collaboration with Fernweh, a group of artists that joins photography, graphic design and social studies. He collaborates with Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Corriere della Sera, Die Zeit, Enel, Eni, Fendi, Fondazione Telethon, GQ, Icon, Il Sole 24 Ore, L'Espresso, M Le Magazine du Monde, Mercedes Benz, Monocle, The New York Times, The Observer, Politecnico di Milano, Puma, Q8, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, The Guardian, WIRED.
